Duo Discus – Our Flagship Two-Seater
In September 2023, our club fleet was joined by “WO”, a Schempp-Hirth Duo Discus – one of the most popular two-seat gliders in the world. The Duo Discus is a high-performance glider designed for both cross-country soaring and advanced training. With its outstanding glide ratio of 1:45, it ranks among the very best two-seat gliders, making it ideal for:

  • Long-distance cross-country flights
  • Competitions
  • Dual training with instructors or experienced pilots

Since its introduction in the 1990s, the Duo Discus has earned a reputation for combining top-level performance with excellent handling and comfort, allowing pilots to enjoy both serious competition flying and relaxed soaring adventures.

IS-28 B2
D-5397 – “IB”

IS-28 “B2” – The Classic Romanian Trainer
Every Romanian glider pilot started their journey in the B2, which is why this aircraft holds a very special place in the hearts of so many. To honor that tradition, in 2019 we replaced our old Bergfalke with an IS-28. The IS-28 is a true all-rounder:

  • Cross-country training: Solid performance for early distance flights.
  • Basic training: Easy handling makes it perfect for new pilots.
  • Light aerobatics: Its strong structure allows for safe and fun maneuvers.

At Aeroclub Ineu, we use the IS-28 for all of these purposes – but especially for local training and checkflights, where it continues to play a central role in helping new pilots take their first steps in soaring.

Standard Cirrus – The Versatile Single-Seater
In 2023, our club welcomed the Standard Cirrus to the fleet, a classic single-seat glider perfect for both joy flights and cross-country adventures. One of its strengths is versatility – the Cirrus can be flown in three different configurations:

  • 15 m without winglets – the original classic setup
  • 15 m with winglets – for improved handling
  • 16 m with tip extensions – for enhanced climb and glide performance

This flexibility makes it an ideal aircraft for our members to enjoy relaxed soaring, while also training and improving their cross-country skills. The Cirrus offers the perfect balance between fun flying and performance development.

Ka 6 BR-Pe
D-3015 – “IE”

Ka 6 – The Vintage Classic
The Ka 6 is the true oldie of our fleet, built back in 1958. With its lightweight wooden structure, it is especially well-suited for thermalling – climbing effortlessly in even weaker conditions.
Don’t be fooled by its age:

  • Performance is far better than many expect
  • Club members have already flown over 600 km and 110km/h average speeds in it

The Ka 6 is proof that vintage gliders can still deliver incredible flights. Light, fun, and full of character, it continues to be a favorite in our club. An open canopy is already in planning – making it the perfect glider for hot summer soaring days!

  • With the engine on, it can comfortably cruise at around 150 km/h
  • With the engine off, it flies just like a glider

This versatility makes the Falke an excellent aircraft for basic training, relaxed touring, or simply enjoying the freedom of both powered and unpowered flight in one machine.

Morane MS 894 A – The Club Workhorse
Our club airplane “D-EAHL” is mainly used for glider towing and local flights, giving people a first impression of the beauty of our sport. It was purchased in 2019 as a replacement for our weaker Rallye 180TS, which struggled to tow heavy gliders from our grass runway. With the Morane MS 894 A, we can now:

  • Tow almost any kind of glider with ease
  • Offer passenger flights to share the joy of flying
  • Enjoy a versatile, reliable airplane for local activities

Beyond its capabilities, the Morane is simply a lot of fun to fly – and is well-loved by all our club pilots. A true workhorse and a central part of our daily operations.
